Is Las Vegas the Thrill Ride Capital of USA?

Nowadays, Las Vegas provides a lot more than gambling and the development of many state of the art thrill makes it a must see for thrill ride lovers. We all benefit as each resort tries to outdo the other and offer the most exiting rides. If you are one of those people that love roller coasters and other thrill rides you should review the listed below of just a few of the attractions in Vegas.

Right in town is a glass domed 5.5 acre mini theme park called the Circus Circus Adventuredome. This park offers state of the art rides like the Sling Shot, which shoots riders towards the roof at 4G's, and a roller coaster called the Disk-O that spins its cars as they move along the track. A faster speed roller coaster called the Canyon Blaster has the only double-loop, double-corkscrew in the United States. Adventuredome is also home to Chaos, a ride built on a circular platform that is placed within the Canyon Blaster coaster route. Chaos spins riders counterclockwise, backward and upside-down while the Canyon Blaster coaster goes zipping by. The ride varies the speed and motion each time so every ride is unique. There are many other rides and other attractions at Adventuredome that will take you a full day to experience.
Funfair equipment pendulum rides for sale

The 100 story Stratosphere Tower has three rides on the top of the building! The first is called Big Shot and it lets you feel what it must be like to be an astronaut by shooting you 160 feet straight up in only 2.five seconds. The amazing part of it is that you are riding up the mast on the top of a 1000 foot tall building! After you reach the top you experience weightlessness as you drop back down, eventually bouncing a few times prior to settling on the base. People who love thrill rides leave this one so energized that they just can't stop laughing.

Also on top of the Stratosphere Tower is a ride called Insanity - The Trip. This ride is not for individuals who fear heights since it extends 68 feet over the edge with the tower and spins its passengers at up to 3 G's. In addition to spinning the ride tilts at a 70 degree angle, giving you a clear view of the Las Vegas Strip more than 900 feet beneath you. This ride is programmable so the movements are a little different each time, with more than 100 ride variations.

The Stratosphere Tower also has a third ride known as X Scream. Unlike a typical roller coaster that takes you up and back down, this ride stops in midair at a 30-degree angle. It gives you a feeling that you are about to fall but, at the last moment, the car teeters backward. The vehicle then slides back and forth across the track kind of like a teeter totter. What makes all this more exiting is that you are suspended more than 900 feet off the ground!

The Sahara offers a roller coaster ride known as Speed - The Trip. What makes this coaster unique is the sheer force of the ride and an element of surprise. Quickly reaching speeds of 35 mph by the very first curve, the coaster immediately dives into a corkscrew then into a mist-filled tunnel. The coaster is soon going more than 70 mph as it roars through a heart-stopping loop. Just as passengers begin to catch their breath, the roller coaster rapidly ascends a 224-foot tower. Then comes the surprise! Once the coaster reaches the very top, it begins falling backwards and goes back through the entire ride backwards at the same speeds!

It is difficult to miss the roller coaster at the New York - New York hotel. The coaster is surrounded by a replica of the New York harbor, complete with a 150-foot model of the Statue of Liberty and a number of of Manhattan's most well-known buildings. The final touch is that the coaster cars are made to look like New York taxicabs! This isn't your typical upside-down roller coaster. The loops on this trip are insane and you will turn and twist in unexpected directions. The combination of corkscrews, hills and the exhilarating 180-degree spiral will keep you gripping your harness.

Buffalo Bill's Resort is located just forty miles south of Las Vegas and offers a number of rides at fairly reasonable prices. The most imposing ride is probably the Desperado, one of the world's tallest and fastest coasters. Another exiting ride, the Turbo Drop will do just that. It raises you up 170 feet then lets you drop at negative 1 G. The Adventure Canyon Log Flume provides swirling rapids and treacherous water falls, but also gives you a chance to do some target shooting with state-of-the-art laser light pistols. There are many other attractions at Buffalo Bill's that promise a complete day of enjoyment for your entire family.

There are many more attractions in Las Vegas than can be covered in this short article, but hopefully this has shown you that there is much more than gambling available. With one of the largest concentrations of thrill rides in the country, you owe it to your self to schedule a trip to Las Vegas so you can decide for yourself if it is the thrill ride capital of America.

Located in the California desert, approximately 130 miles east from Los Angeles Indio is one of the largest commercial date-producing area in the western hemisphere.

It wasn't until the early 1900's that dates became a known commodity in the California desert. Originally brought over brought over and transplanted in the California desert from the middle east, by the early 1920's there were sufficient dates planted that date gardens became a significant Coachella Valley tourist attraction.

As a result of the popularity of the date gardens the idea of an annual Date Festival was conceived. The first festival was held in 1921 in Indio's city park. The following year a second Festival was held. Unfortunately, attendance at the second festival was lacking and interest in putting on a festival abated.

It wasn't until 16 years later that the third Date Festival was held this time under the name of Riverside County Fair and the Coachella Valley Date Festival. The festival was at that time run by the city of Indio under contract from the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.

The third attempt at an annual festival was a success, with almost 100 exhibition booths and attendance in excess of 5,000. The third festival took on a western themes complete with cowboy hats, and rodeo events. Also held that year was a street parade which has since become a National Date Festival staple.

In the early 40's Riverside County bought some 40 acres of land in Indio which is the site of the present fairgrounds. Today as a result of additional land purchases by the county, including the purchase of a neighboring date grove, the fairgrounds cover about 120 acres.

After WWII the county constructed a series of Arabian themed buildings on the site. As a result of the Arabian theme of the surrounding structures the event took on an Arabic theme, complete with an Arabian nights pageant and Queen Scheherazade contest.

Today the event is visited by 70,000 people annually. Some of the special attractions and events that comprise the ten - day event include Camel and Ostrich Races, the Queen Scheherazade Scholarship Pageant, Bull-O-Rama, The Presidents' Day Grand Parade, the Motorsports Monster Trucks, WGAS Demolition Derby, Daily Petting Zoo, World Power Wrestling and carnival rides for fairs, games and fair food. There is also nightly headline entertainment making the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival a must see on your next vacation to Palm Springs and the California desert resort communities.

Have A Great Trip To An Amusement Park

It is the dream of many children, and adventure seeking adults, to spend an entire day at an amusement park, riding rides, enjoying treats, and seeing shows. Amusement park trips can be expensive, but there are ways to save. For instance, you can join a frequent visitors club or look to local businesses for discount tickets. You can also save money on travel and food while at the park. Once you have made the decision to spend the day at an amusement park, there are also a few things you can do to make sure the day goes as planned and that you get your money's worth. Start by planning ahead and trying to foresee anything that could go wrong with your trip. Be sure your car is in good repair before hitting the road by taking it to an auto repair Orlando shop or auto service Orlando. This way you will not find yourself broken down on the highway, never even reaching the park's gates.
Electric bumper car, funfair equipment for sale

To ensure your day goes well once you reach the park, be sure to dress comfortably. Nothing is worse than having to walk around all day in heavy wet blue jeans or a white t-shirt that becomes transparent the moment it gets wet. Consider the weather when you are riding water rides, whether you should bring along a swimsuit, and if it would be worth it to pack extra clothing to change into. You also want to be sure you have comfortable shoes and socks so you can do a lot of walking.

When dressing, be sure to apply copious amounts of sunscreen. The last thing anyone wants is to have the memory of their great day at the amusement park sullied by sunburn. Throughout the day, reapply sun block, especially if you have been riding water rides and getting wet. Areas to pay special attention to include your face, neck, ears, and the top of your head.

If you are looking for ways to cut cost during your visit, pack a lunch and head back to the car to eat it. Most parks let you take a break from the rides and leave the grounds, as long as you get a hand stamp or a bracelet that proves you paid for the day. Your packed lunch may not be as exciting for the kids as pink cotton candy, slushy drinks and corn dogs, but it could save you hundreds of dollars during your visit.
Kids excavator ride for funfairs

Finally, be sure you have a safe method for protecting your valuables while riding. For those people who plan to go on water rides will want to put their money and phones into sealable plastic baggies. You can also rent a locker at the park for a few dollars. This allows you to store changes of clothing, money, bottles of water, and other necessities while you enjoy the park. Some people may also travel with a member in their group who prefers to ride the wilder ride. If this is the case, ask this person if they would be willing to hold onto your valuables while you ride. This can save you money and the heartache of losing your wallet while riding.

Avon's Historic Mop Fair

You might find it hard to believe that Europe's largest funfair in town centre streets was originally a place where the unemployed could find work, but it is true. Held on the 11th and 12th October each year, the Stratford Mop Fair is a tradition that can be traced back hundreds of years. On these days, the streets in the town centre are closed to traffic and filled with funfair rides, stalls and tents.Children's funfair rides- mini shuttle kiddie roller coaster rides

By custom, the fair is opened by the mayor who holds a pig or ox roast before the opening. The mayor is then led around the fair by the master of the mop, and the mayor chooses a ride to go on. On the first morning of the fair, local children can enjoy the kiddie theme rides free of charge. A week later a smaller fair called the Runaway Mop is held.
Children's Funfair Rides- Bumper Cars

History of the Stratford Mop Fair

The Stratford Mop was first granted a royal charter by Edward V1 in 1544 with further charters by James I and Charles II in 1611 and 1676 respectively. The 1676 charter provided for mops or fairs to be held "...within and through all places Streets Lanes Alleys and Fields in the said Borough (Stratford upon Avon)".

Mop fairs were originally fairs where workers hired themselves out to employers for the next 12 months. The workers would indicate their skill by carrying or wearing an item - a shepherd would carry his crook or a lock of wool; a labourer would carry a piece of plaited hay; waggoners wore whipcord in their hats, and maidservants would have mops or brooms. Once hired, a worker would remove the item and wear bright ribbons instead. Those who were offered a job would be paid a retainer which they would spend on food, drink and games at the fair. The Runaway Mop was held the following week for employers who found they had made a poor choice to re-hire staff.

Only a handful of English towns still hold a mop fair, and it is unlikely that many of the visitors are aware of the traditional reason for them being held. But the uniqueness of the experience at Stratford combining the thrill of the rides surrounded by Tudor style half-timbered houses, means that a great day out is on the cards for everyone.

Powered Ride-On-Toys for Kids

Before you accomplish any task, you would probably need to run through a basic risk assessment exercise to ensure that the task that you are about to perform is safe and does not include any wastage. The same could be said about purchasing an electrical vehicle for your kid as a gift, as you would need to take a number of things into account before you actually purchase the vehicle. Over the years John Deere ride-on-toys have become extremely popular as kids love them, and there are also other manufacturers that create these motorized kids ride-on-cars and market them successfully. Well, before you purchase any of them, you should consider:
Electric trackless train rides for sale

1) the battery requirement that you need - these vehicles come in variants of 6-V, 12-V and 24-V rechargeable batteries, and each of these batteries would cater for a different group of children. Take the 6-V battery for instance, this type should cater for the infants out there as the vehicle would move slowly and would not cause too much of a hazard to the kid. The 12-V battery is fairly common for kids between 3-6 years old, while the 24-V battery can be considered powerful, thus is suitable for older kids that can control their vehicles well.Kids excavator ride for funfairs

2) The surface that the vehicle can work on - the most common of these ride-on vehicles https://amusementrides.my/fairground-rides-for-sale-cheap/ can only function on flat surfaces, and would prove to be hazards when driven on other surfaces. If you have fairly adventurous children that would have the tendencies to drive their electrical cars outdoors on surfaces such as grass, sand or mud, you should get vehicles that can suit these conditions.

3) The attractiveness of the vehicles - the design and appeal factor of the vehicles play huge parts in making the children like the vehicle. For instance, if you buy a pink electric car for your little girl, chances are she would like the gift immensely. Do the same to your son, and he would most probably react adversely to your gift as pink is not a color associated with boys, instead you should have opted for bright, bold colors such as blue or red.
Funfair Robot Ride for Wholesale

4) The durability factor - always ensure that you purchase cars or rides that are durable and would last long, as it is pointless to purchase a car that would break down within a month or so. Try to obtain a warranty of at least a year for the purchase, the longer the warranty, the more secure your purchase would be!

5) Lastly, also ensure that you do not spend too big a fortune to purchase a ride-on-toy for your kid, as the children are bound to grow up very quickly and would end up not playing with the car fairly quickly as well. Scout around for moderately-priced electric cars before purchasing one, as you should be able to find competitively-priced variants of these vehicles quite easily if you know where to look.

Make use of the tips and pointers above and make a calculated choice when you are out purchasing the right electric car for your kid. All the best!

Pennsylvania State Fair at the Racetrack

The Philadelphia Park Racetrack in Bensalem hosts the Pennsylvania State Fair every year from the end of May to the beginning of June. There are ride discount coupons and a special free admission for one chaperone per 15 children grades K through 8. Plus the fair organizers try to include cheap one dollar menus on each concession stand.

Grandpa Cratchet the puppet is available on the grounds to meet and entertain the kids and family members of all ages. Also fun to enjoy is the Animal Specialties Petting Zoo. Kids can come pet and feed many domesticated farm animals from goats to chickens. Another animal show that has come to the state fair on occasion if 'Bwana Jim' and his educational animals. Its wild and crazy and you just might learn something about the animals.

The rides for kids at the fair are provided by the Reithoffer Shows Midway. It is the largest midway in the country and has lots of one-of-a-kind rides. The Midway has been around in some form or other since 1896 and they are always looking to add new rides. Some recent additions are the Starship, the Freak Out and the Avalanche. A fun kiddies ride is the titanic. A somewhat ironic theme, but the ride is really a giant blow up slide of the sinking ship that the kids slide down.

Roaming the fair on occasion is also Buffo, the Strongman Clown whose many talents include juggling bowling balls, balancing extension ladders on his face and being able to rip phone books in half. Whoa. Also visitors can enjoy a stunt bike show, the woodchuck chainsaw sculpture show, and a Dairy Farm Milking exhibit.

Enjoy Kids Fairground Rides

No one can deny that Disneyland parks are the most popular amusements all over the world. But what if you were told that similar entertainment complex exists in Spain, which is not behind in variety of attractions? That is the case with Port Aventura, situated in Spanish resort of Salou (Catalonia) on the Golden Coast. This theme park is divided into six main parts, which alert attention of both kids and grown-ups. Besides, the fan fair offers an aquatic park, resort hotels, 90 unique performances, nearly 30 fairground amusement rides and 23 restaurants, which serve different national cuisines, including Mexican and Polynesian! So, there is everything you need to spend a remarkable and joyful time at hand. Thus, you should get acquainted with Port Aventura's thematic sections.
Fairground track train for kids

The nearest "world" to an entrance of the park appears to be Mediterrania, where there are less rides, but restaurants and shopping places. It is a reflection of typical coastal town in Catalonia, set up near the lake, which is opened during July and August and hosts different shows with fireworks and floats. It seems that nothing can put this peaceful place into a flatter, if you haven't already discovered a Furious Baco - an amusement ride with a speed of 130 km/h, working both in the air and under the water. And that is only a start, as far as two other rides take tourists to other parts of Port Aventura: Boat Ride delivers to China and Estacio Del Nord to Far West.

The last one appears to be the biggest part of Port Aventura, maintaining 9 attractions. Due to its name of Far West it is a reflection of old Wild West town, preserving this trend in buildings and sculptures. Here one might find one of the biggest attractions of Stampida, the kilometers of ups and downs on a Wooden roller coaster. Among other eight amusement rides in http://funfairgroundrides.com/kids-fairground-rides-for-sale/ the most famous are a childish version of Stampida Tomahawk, working in parallel, Grand Canyon Rapids (an imitation of Grand Canyon with water cannons alongside to squirt people on the rides) and Silver River Flume. Adults might enjoy American food as well as pizza, pasta and tapas (The Old Steak House is much recommended) and watch a Betty Boop show embodying a true American Spirit.

Those ones, who would like to penetrate in Chinese culture, should visit China area, the path across of which is made in a theme of The Great Wall of China. The majority of tourists are usually impressed by Marco Polo restaurant, which offers exquisite dishes of Chinese cuisine and Dragon Khan Ride with eight vertiginous loops and 110 km/h of purest excitement. Speaking of which, this attraction is considered the biggest roller coaster in Europe, which hit the Guinness Book of Records with its highest vertical loop in the world! Moreover, a new fantastic ride will break the skyline of Port Aventura in 2012, crossing Dragon Khan at once and beating all the records on the continent (76 m tall and a 78 m drop (2 m underground).

The smallest theme area is Polynesian part, which is comparatively calm and less thrilling. It offers a Tutuki Splash ride, a pasticcio of volcanic outbreak, Canoes, giving a fairground ride for children through the waters of Polynesian rivers and lakes, Sea Odyssey 4D, the ride on a submarine deep into the waters, and Kon-Tiki Wave, representing a tropical storm wheatherbeat. Bora-Bora café, made in a style of typical Polynesian dwelling, serves exotic salads and fruits, so, tourists may enjoy an atmosphere of a faraway exotic country.
Fairground Trackless Train for Kids

More similar to the Far West part is Mexico, stylized around Maya topic. Visitors might feel the dynamic ride on Hurakan Condor, a long way-up tower (100m high) with a sudden free fall, Templo Del Fuego with a fireworks' show Temple of Fire, El Diablo-Tren de la Mina, etc. Certainly, Mexican food can be found in this area, in particular, in such restaurants as la Cantina and La Hacienda.

SesamoAventura is, of course, mostly enjoyed by young visitors, as far as they may spend their time on various little rides from http://funfairgroundrides.com/, carousels and drop-towers in a company of their beloved characters of Sesame Street! Children can also pay a visit to Ernie's Restaurant, where pizza, pasta, hamburgers, fried chicken, salads, desserts are served.

It is interesting to know that Port Aventura is of great popularity not only in hot season, but on holidays as well. There are special celebrations made on Christmas and Halloween, when travelers are much welcomed. Hence, this theme park might be considered a world uniting different cultures under common skyline, where children and their parents might get unforgettable impressions and feelings!

Holidays in France

Located in the west of Picardie, the department of Oise has something to offer any visitor. There are historical towns, buildings and important sites, dating from medieval times to the First World War. Families will be well entertained by the major amusement parks in the region, while horse lovers are well catered for with several equestrian centres. Other outdoor activities can also be enjoyed in the region's forests and lakes.

Beauvais

The highlight of the medieval town of Beauvais is the unfinished St Pierre cathedral, started in the 13th century and abandoned 300 years later. However, the architect and designers still had time to create the highest chancel in all of France, some exquisite stained glass windows and an amazing astronomical clock, with over 90,000 moving parts, which still works today. The town of Beauvais is also famous for the production of tapestries, many of which hang in the greatest houses and museums across Europe. The National Tapestry Museum is found in Beauvais, near to the cathedral, putting on a number of specialist temporary exhibitions as well as its permanent collection.

Amusement Parks

There are two amusement parks in the south of Oise that children and adults of all ages will enjoy. The famous Asterix park is inspired by the famous comic strip characters and features many cheap fairground rides and roller coasters, while the Mer de Sable park nearby is situated on a giant inland sand dune. It also features rides as well as live shows and entertainment. Both parks are located on the edge of the Oise-France Regional Nature Park, which can provide more sedate entertainment for those who don't enjoy thrill rides. The three forests that make up the Park are ideally suited for walking, biking and horse riding, and there are a number of trails of different lengths and difficulties that you can follow. The four Commelles Lakes are man-made bodies of water that also provide visitors with peaceful natural scenery and the opportunity to explore the buildings that the monks left behind too.

Not only can fans of equestrianism take a ride on a horse themselves, but they can also visit the famous town of Chantilly, where the famous races the Prix de Diane and the Prix du Jockey Club are held every June.

On these days, the streets in the town centre are closed to traffic and filled with funfair rides, stalls and tents.

By custom, the fair is opened by the mayor who holds a pig or ox roast before the opening. The mayor is then led around the fair by the master of the mop, and the mayor chooses a ride for funfair to go on. On the first morning of the fair, local children can enjoy the equipment free of charge. A week later a smaller fair called the Runaway Mop is held.

But the uniqueness of the experience at Stratford combining the thrill of the rides http://funfairgroundrides.com/funfair-rides-for-sale/ surrounded by Tudor style half-timbered houses, means that a great day out is on the cards for everyone.

Indoor Water Parks Provide Family Fun

If you are seeking a fun place to unwind or vacation, even in the winter months, then water parks could be a perfect option. Though they are usually thought of as a primarily summertime attraction, there are many exciting indoor waterparks. These keep the fun going all year long!

Amusement facilities of this nature come in a variety of sizes and offer various rides for young and old alike. Many of the parks feature mini golf ranges and arcades, and some are even based on a theme! You can find parks that underscore a Bavarian theme, a dinosaur theme, or a retro experience. Themed settings and rides always add to the enjoyment of visiting these attractions and sites.

The Lazy River - A Popular Park Attraction

The lazy river is one style of ride that's featured at many indoor water parks. The shallow pool is around 2 ½ feet deep and is designed to replicate a slowly moving stream, allowing guests to relax or lie comfortably on a raft during the activity. Scenic elements, such as small cascades, are often highlighted during the ride. While some lazy rivers wind their way into a wave pool, others simply drive visitors to move in a continuous circle.

Torrent Rivers

Torrent rivers are also featured that allow for tube riding fun. They are based on the same concept as lazy rivers but take rafters or tubers on a faster excursion.

Chute Type Rides

Water slides are always highlighted at such facilities too. The equipment may be referred to by such names as chutes, hydroslides, or flumes, and it is designed both for indoor use and warm-weather activities.

Some users sit down on the slide itself, while other riders sit in a specially-designed tube. A pump system is often utilized to emit water on the ride's surface so friction is reduced, allowing riders to speed through the slide into a plunge pool.

Subterranean Settings and Mysterious Venues

Tunnels of love and river caves take visitors on subterranean tours or on dark and mysterious journeys. So, whether you are seeking action-packed fun or want to relax and take it easy, you can find what you are seeking when you visit indoor water parks and similar attractions.

Therefore, if you are planning a family-fun vacation, regardless of the season, keep water parks in mind! It's almost like going tot a low-cost, affordable resort! Whether you plan to take off for a weekend or a week, this kind of escapade is an ideal way to spend time with friends or family.

Build a Theme Park

So you want to build a theme park?

What do you do? Where do you start? How about taking some cool rides, and putting them together with some good restaurants, fun stores and pretty landscaping? Well, you can do exactly that, and some people have, but if you want to make your theme park work you'd better do some master planning.

The Numbers Game

If you want to build a theme park, the safest place to start is by doing a feasibility study. This study will tell you what kind of market your park will draw upon, what kind of attendance you can expect, and therefore how big to make the park. Now, this is sort of a Catch 22, because unless you have some idea of the type and quality level of the attraction you plan to build, you can't really pin down how many people will visit it. But given that you have some general idea of what you want to do, a good feasibility study can narrow down the parameters about what you should plan.

There are a million formulas we use when we do these studies, but at the end of the day, they all boil down to one number: The Design Day. To calculate the Design Day, you have to figure out how many people will be coming to the park during a day in peak season, and how many of them will actually be in park at the peak time of day. That number basically tells you how big to make everything--from the size of the walkways to the size of the parking lot. It tells you how many "fairground entertainment units" (i.e. ride, show and game capacity per hour) you need to plan, how many restaurants and stores you'll need, and just about everything else, except maybe how big to make Mickey Mouse's ears.

The money guys will use this feasibility study to help them figure out if you are going to make a buck on the park, or go broke. There are two key factors here: your total attendance per year, and the per capita income you can expect from each guest. A lot of this depends on what kind of attractions you have, and how long you can entertain the guests. At a big theme park, like the Magic Kingdom or Universal Studios, there's more to experience than you can do in one day, so you can charge more for a ticket, and people will spend more on food and merchandise because they stay longer. At a small park, it works the other way.

Even considering all the science and statistical formulas we use, a feasibility study can only provide an educated guess at how big to make your park. For example, at Universal Studios, Florida, despite the fact that the park had a "rough opening," it exceeded the highest feasibility study attendance projection in the first year, and just kept growing from there. That is to say, more people came than we projected in our wildest imagination! What that meant for the park guests is there were some long lines at first. These exceeded our wildest expectations as well. For example, I had designed the E.T. ride with a pleasant indoor queue themed like a pine forest, but the actual lines stretched well outside the building. Our quick response to that was to improve the queue line experiences with videos, bigger shade structures, and live entertainment, but from a master planning point of view, so long as you leave space for the queues, you are pretty well covered.

Park Layout

When people think of Master Planning, a lot of them think of how the park is arranged, which is what we call "park layout".

There are as many ways to lay out a park as there are designers who do it, but a few have been used more often than not, so we'll touch on those first.

The Disney approach, seen in the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland, is what could be called the Icon Design Philosophy. The big Icon for Disney is the Castle at the end of Main Street, and that is also the one "visual contradiction" in that park--as there aren't a lot of fairytale castles at the end of most American Main Streets. That visual contradiction is designed to "pull" you down Main Street, and that's basically what the Icon Design Philosophy does--it provides you with big, visual landmarks that pull you through the park. Once you enter Tomorrowland, for example, you'll see Space Mountain, which is located at the back of that "land" and pulls you to that point. The other Icons, the Matterhorn and Big Thunder Mountain work the same way, and they also help you figure out where you are in the park. If you see Big Thunder ahead of you, then Frontierland must be that way.

Probably the most popular park layout is the "loop" which was first developed by Randy Duell for Six Flags Over Texas, and can be found in more theme parks than any other kind of plan. The "loop" is exactly what it sounds like, a big promenade that circles the park. The good thing about it is that you never get lost, because you are always somewhere on the loop, so if you want to find the exit, just keep on walking. The bad part comes when you decide that the next ride you want to experience is on the other side of the park, and then you have a trek in store to reach it http://funfairgroundrides.com/funfair-rides-for-sale/.

Beyond these layouts, there are dozens of others, notably the Universal Studios front lot/back lot plan, and then a whole lot of "I kept growing and growing so this is how I turned out" plans. Those are the places you get lost in, unless the directional graphics are really good.

But no matter what kind of plan you end up with, what really matters most to the guest is how much fun they are going to have, and that is determined by your "attraction mix."
